I meet with the Whiteside Portrait group about once a week and try to paint a live model during a 2 to 3 hour session. This is a wonderful opportunity to try to capture someones likeness and play with different mediums and surfaces in a short amount of time. No pressure right?!  There is no time to overthink things. It is what it is. Sometimes it works , sometimes it doesn't but its always a blast and a wonderful learning experience. Here are a few attempts.

Due to Covid 19 we are no longer meeting at Whiteside. In order to keep up the portrait practice and stay in touch with all the wonderful people that usually meet there, we are going to be doing virtual models. Definitely not the same but still going to try to keep to the 2 to 3 hour time limit. As you can probably see, when you are working directly from a posted photo, the results are quite different. Its a lot harder to capture someone live!
